Travel to Ubon By Bus

Do you want to travel to Ubon Ratchathani by bus? If you are in Bangkok and are planning to travel here you need a little bit of info. In, Bangkok make your way to Mor Chit Bus Terminal. That is the station that connects to Ubon Ratchathani and Isarn. When you get to Mor Chit Terminal building make your way up to the third floor. That is where you will find all the bus lines that service the Northeast region of Thailand, which includes Ubon. It can be a bit intimidating but just look for the name of your destination and choose the time and class you want. There is usually a sign at the window with the gate number of the bus you are buying a seat on.

Also buses help you get to know the local people and maybe practise some of your Thai language skills. Everybody is close so you might as well make good use of the captive time on your travels.

Ubon Ratchathani Main Bus Terminal

Ubon Bus Terminal

This is where you will arrive in Ubon. There is plenty of local trans available to get you to your final destination here in Ubon. Out front of the terminal will be tuk-tuks and motorcyle taxis. Also there are songtaews or mini-buses stopping to pick up passengers. You will probably get swarmed by drivers when you walk out but don't let them pressure you, decide for yourself how you want to go. I find it helpful to step back and wait til it settles down then go find my way home. Welcome to Ubon Ratchathani by bus.

Nakhorn Chai Air Bus Terminal

Nakhorn Chai Air Bus Terminal

In my opinion a true success story in Thailand it Nakhorn chai Air Bus Line. They are constantly upgrading their buses and facilities. There buses are well maintained and the drivers are trained well and drive safely. They do have some budget routes but the majority of their buses are air-conditioned and 32 seats 32 passengers, not standing room only like some. Most buses have airconditioning, meals, videos and large comfortable seats. I highly recommend their service.

There are many other buses that service Ubon Ratchathani. Many do not have websites or other forms of information distribution. The best way, if you want info on all the routes and schedules is to take a trip to Mor Chit Bus Terminal. You can find cheap seats but have to accept too many bodies packed on the bus and frequent stops to airconditioned express. The choice is yours when traveling to Ubon Ratchathani by bus.
